Introduction: Pleomorphic lobular carcinoma (PLC) is a rare variant of invasive lobular carcinoma of the breast (ILC) and few studies have reported controversial data regarding its outcomes. The information provided appears to indicate that PLC is more aggressive and has worse outcome when compared to classical ILC (cILC); however, due to its rarity, studies with a considerable cohort of patients are lacking. The purpose of this study was to compare the clinicopathological characteristics and disease outcomes of PLC patients to those with cILC in a large cohort from a single institution.

To aid in the prognostication of malignant phyllodes tumors of the breast (B-MPT), we assessed the prognostic value of fibroadenoma-like areas (supposed to have stemmed from a pre-existing fibroadenoma) and MED12m, in patients with resected primary B-MPTs.
Methods: We conducted a single-center, retrospective, cohort study including all consecutive patients aged ≥18 years old, with non-metastatic B-MPT, who underwent surgery from January 2000 to December 2021.
Sinter-crystallization is a specific method of producing glass-ceramics that allows the manufacture of complexly shaped products, composites and solder. However, it usually is limited when the glass powders used are characterized by a high crystallization trend. This study proposes a new opportunity to improve the sinter-crystallization and demonstrates the benefits of microwave processing using diopside (CaMg(SiO)) glass-ceramics with an enhanced crystallinity of ~70%.

Cancer patients frequently ask esthetic practitioners to perform procedures to address such changes. However, practitioners often hesitate to satisfy such requests due to lacking guidelines or recommendations.

Purpose: The use of neoadjuvant systemic therapy for primary breast cancer can achieve tumor shrinkage, enabling less invasive surgical treatments, such as breast-conserving surgery instead of mastectomy, and sentinel node biopsy instead of axillary dissection. In recent years, an increasing number of studies have explored the use of primary systemic therapy for occult breast cancer with axillary presentation. These studies suggest that a more conservative approach, involving targeted axillary surgery could be cautiously proposed for occult breast cancer after neoadjuvant chemotherapy in selected patients.
