Cervical cancer (CC) is the most prevalent malignant gynecological tumor with limited treatments. The present study describes the role of SPP1 in cancer progression, SPP1 emerged as one of the most overexpressed genes identified through clariom D transcriptome microarray. This investigation aims towards identifying a potential gene with significant prognostic value for detection and early diagnosis of cervical cancer.

Design and evaluation of matrix diffusion controlled transdermal patches of verapamil hydrochloride.

Transdermal patches of verapamil hydrochloride were prepared using four different polymers (individual and combination): Eudragit RL100 (ERL100), Eudragit RS100 (ERS100), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose 15 cps (HPMC), and ethyl cellulose (EC), of varying degrees of hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity. The cytoprotective and immunomodulating properties of Emblica officinalis (Amla) against chromium (VI) induced oxidative damage are reported. Chromium (VI) at 1 micro g/mL concentration was highly cytotoxic. It enhanced free radical production and decreased reduced glutathione (GSH) levels and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) activity in macrophages.
