Asiatic acid (AA) has neuroprotective potential for prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Natural waxes with various ratios of Tween 80 and Span 80 or soybean lecithin were formulated to obtain AA-loaded solid lipid nanoparticles (AA-SLN) to improve direct nose to brain transport. Optimal AA-SLN had particle size below 200 nm with uniform size distribution and zeta potential of nearly -30 mV indicating a low risk of particle aggregation.

This study investigated the gross morphology of reproductive organs and oxytocin receptor distribution across different parities in hyperprolific sows. A total of thirty-two reproductive organs from Landrace × Yorkshire crossbred sows were categorized into three groups based on parity numbers: 1 ( = 10), 2-5 ( = 12), and ≥6 ( = 10). All sows were culled due to management problems, and none had reproductive disorders.

Hyaluronan (hyaluronic acid) is a simple, nonantigenic, nonsulfated glycosaminoglycan present everywhere in the extracellular compartments of the body. Noteworthy, it is highly conserved phylogenetically, from sauropsida to mammals; and plays a plethora of roles from embryonic/fetal development to adult physiological and pathological events, including tumor development. In reproduction, hyaluronan has proven related to initial events as sperm survival, buildup of the sperm reservoir in the oviduct, regulation of sperm capacitation, and prefertilization to later participate in embryo, fetal, and placental development.
