Gender medicine has increasingly underscored the necessity of addressing sex-based differences in disease prevalence and management, particularly within cardiovascular conditions and drug intolerance. Women often present cardiovascular diseases distinctively from men, with a higher prevalence of non-obstructive coronary artery disease and varied ischemic manifestations, such as coronary microvascular dysfunction and epicardial or microvascular coronary spasm. This disparity is further exacerbated by elevated drug intolerance rates among women, influenced by hormonal, genetic, and psychosocial factors.

Background: The relationship between the extent and severity of stress-induced ischemia and the extent and severity of anatomic coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with obstructive CAD is multifactorial and includes the intensity of stress achieved, type of testing used, presence and extent of prior infarction, collateral blood flow, plaque characteristics, microvascular disease, coronary vasomotor tone, and genetic factors. Among chronic coronary disease participants with site-determined moderate or severe ischemia, we investigated associations between ischemia severity on stress testing and the extent of CAD on coronary computed tomography angiography.

Methods: Clinically indicated stress testing included nuclear imaging, echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, or nonimaging exercise tolerance test.

Introduction: Low back pain (LBP) is one of the most common presenting complaints among patients and the costliest orthopaedic condition. This study aimed to compare the healthcare utilisation rates of advanced imaging and specialist consultations for LBP between patients presenting with early physiotherapy (EPT) before specialist review and routine physiotherapy (RPT) after specialist review.

Methods: Consecutive patients who (n = 311) had been referred to specialist spine surgery for LBP in 2021 were retrospectively reviewed.

Background: We evaluated the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of a 2D-planar robot for minimally supervised home-based upper-limb therapy for post-stroke hemiparesis.

Methods: The H-Man, end effector robot, combined with web-based software application for remote tele-monitoring were evaluated at homes of participants. Inclusion criteria were: strokes > 28 days, Fugl-Meyer Motor Assessment (FMA) > 10-60/66, presence of a carer and absence of medical contraindications.
