Article Synopsis
  • Primary pulmonary lymphoma (PPL) is a rare lung condition where lymphoid cells grow abnormally, leading to symptoms like cough, fever, and shortness of breath; it can often be misdiagnosed as tuberculosis due to overlapping symptoms.
  • Accurate diagnosis of PPL is critical and typically requires small biopsies for histopathological analysis, guiding treatment options such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
  • The text presents a case of a patient initially thought to have tuberculosis but diagnosed with PPL through thorough evaluations, including a thoracoscopy-guided biopsy, emphasizing the importance of a multidisciplinary approach for effective diagnosis and management.

A novel Schiff base with AIEE characteristics has been developed and used as a chemosensor for picric acid in aqueous media. The Schiff base 1-((E)-((E)-(4-(benzyloxy) benzylidene) hydrazono) methyl) naphthalen-2-ol [BBHN] with strong fluorescence emission was obtained by the simple condensation of 1-(hydrazonomethyl)naphthan-2-ol and 4-benzoxy benzaldehyde. The characterization of BBHN was done using Fourier Transfer Infra-Red, UV-visible, Magnetic Resonance (H and C) spectroscopy, and HRMS.

Unlabelled: Upon understanding the boosting role of carotenoids on the endogenous anti-inflammatory system, it is vital to explore their role in reducing the use of high doses of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs), and their mediated secondary toxicity during the treatment of chronic diseases. The current study investigates the carotenoids potential on inhibition of secondary complications induced by NSAIDs, aspirin (ASA) against lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulated inflammation. Initially, this study evaluated a minimal cytotoxic dose of ASA and carotenoids (-carotene, BC/lutein, LUT/astaxanthin, AST/fucoxanthin FUCO) in Raw 264.

Background Urticaria is a common skin disease which often causes impairment in the quality of life. The ideal drug for chronic urticaria would have antihistaminic and anti-inflammatory actions. Bepotastine besilate is a recently approved novel anti-allergic agent with multiple mechanisms of action; levocetirizine is a potent and selective second-generation H1 receptor antagonist used in the treatment of urticaria.

A probe, (1E,4E)-1,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)penta-1,4-dien-3-one, was developed for rapid, colorimetric, and selective detection of bisulfite/sulfite anions in aqueous solutions. This probe is based on the Michael addition reaction which is favoured in the presence of cationic micellar medium CTAB. CTAB promoted Michael addition is an effective tool to determine SO toxicity, which is mainly expressed in terms of collective concentration of bisulfite and sulfite anions.
