Introduction: Pharmacological studies have shown that the rhizome of Atractylodes macrocephala Koidz. (Compositae), commonly known as atractylodes macrocephala rhizome (AMR), can modulate immunity. Nevertheless, its resources have been largely depleted, and the pharmacological activity of artificial AMR is relatively modest.

Currently, over 170 chemical modifications identified in RNA introduce an additional regulatory attribute to gene expression, known as the epitranscriptome. The development of detection methods to pinpoint the location and quantify these dynamic and reversible modifications has significantly expanded our understanding of their roles. This review goes deep into the latest progress in enzyme- and chemical-assisted sequencing methods, highlighting the opportunities presented by these reactivity-based techniques for detailed characterization of RNA modifications.

Methods: A total of 325 critically ill ICH patients treated in our hospital from May 2021 to February 2024 were selected for this study. Based on whether the patient developed a pulmonary infection during treatment, they were divided into the infection group (n = 86) and the non-infection group (n = 239).
