Primary non-Hodgkin lymphoma of liver is a very rare malignancy. Here we report the case of a 50 year old female who presented with dull ache in the right hypochondrium and decreased appetite since 1 month. CT scan of abdomen and pelvis showed an enlarged liver with an ill- defined soft tissue lesion arising from left lobe measuring 13 × 9 cm suggestive of primary hepatic neoplasm.

Plant carotenoid cleavage oxygenase (CCO) is an enzyme which catalyzes carotenoids to apocarotenoid products that are involved in several vital physiological functions. The CCO exists in two forms, namely, CCD (Carotenoid Cleavage Dioxygenase) and NCED (Nine-Cis Epoxycarotenoid Dioxygenase). This paper relates to a comparative study on CCD and NCED genes through phylogeny and codon usage analysis.

Insights into HIV-1 Vpu-Tetherin Interactions and Its Mutational Counterparts.

Tetherin, an interferon-induced host protein encoded by the bone marrow stromal antigen 2 (BST2/CD317/HM1.24) gene, is involved in obstructing the release of many retroviruses and other enveloped viruses by cross-linking the budding virus particles to the cell surface. This activity is antagonized in the case of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1 wherein its accessory protein Viral Protein U (Vpu) interacts with tetherin, causing its downregulation from the cell surface.
