Implementation and Evaluation of a High-Fidelity, Interprofessional Simulation Project Using Standardized Patients to Address Aggression in a Psychiatric Emergency Department.

Introduction: Increased aggression in a regional Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) led to a significant rise in physical assaults, restraints, and use of security personnel. Root cause analysis revealed a need for more extensive training on de-escalation, teamwork and communication.

Aims: This quality improvement project evaluated the impact of an interprofessional, high-fidelity simulation project on interdisciplinary collaboration to manage de-escalation and aggression safely and effectively.

Visible-light-driven net-1,2-hydrogen atom transfer of amidyl radicals to access β-amido ketone derivatives.

Hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) processes provide an important strategy for selective C-H functionalization. Compared with the popularity of 1,5-HAT processes, however, net-1,2-HAT reactions have been reported less frequently. Herein, we report a unique visible-light-mediated net-1,2-HAT of amidyl radicals for the synthesis of β-amido ketone derivatives.

Profiling Human iPSC-Derived Sensory Neurons for Analgesic Drug Screening Using a Multi-Electrode Array.

Unlabelled: Chronic pain is a major global health issue, yet effective treatments are limited by poor translation from preclinical studies to humans. To address this, we developed a high-content screening (HCS) platform for analgesic discovery using hiPSC-derived nociceptors. These cells were cultured on multi-well micro-electrode arrays to monitor activity, achieving nearly 100% active electrodes by week two, maintaining stable activity for at least two weeks.

Metastatic recurrence in women diagnosed with non-metastatic breast cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: To assess proportions of metastatic recurrence in women initially diagnosed with non-metastatic breast cancer by stage at diagnosis, breast cancer subtype, calendar period and age.

Methods: A systematic search of MEDLINE and Web of Science databases (January 2010-12 May 2022) was conducted. Studies reporting the proportion of distant metastatic recurrence in women with non-metastatic breast cancer were identified and outcomes and characteristics were extracted.
