Accurately estimating gross primary productivity (GPP) is crucial for simulating the carbon cycle and addressing the challenges of climate change. However, estimating GPP is challenging due to the absence of direct measurements at scales larger than the leaf level. To overcome this challenge, researchers have developed indirect methods such as remote sensing and modeling approaches.

Warmer temperatures and changes in precipitation patterns alter water availability and increase the occurrence of extreme weather events. South America and the Andes are vulnerable regions to climate change due to inequity and the uneven distribution of resources.

Upon phosphorylation, ERK becomes activated and a portion of it dimerizes. The importance of ERK activation in specific cellular events is generally well documented, but the role played by dimerization is largely unknown.

The impact that the octacoordinated heavy metals W and Mo have on the electronic structure and optical response of isostructural materials whose electronic properties strongly depend on the crystal structure is discussed. It is found that the effect of the polarization power of the metal centers, combined with the ligand field of cyanos, produces considerable changes in the electronic structure and, consequently, in the band gap energy.
