Aim: We investigated the consequences of applying different imaging guidelines for urological anomalies after first pyelonephritis in children with normal routine antenatal ultrasounds.
Methods: The cohort comprised 472 children treated for their first culture-positive pyelonephritis and investigated with ultrasound and renal scintigraphy. We excluded patients with known urological anomalies and patients born before routine antenatal ultrasound.
Background: Pyelonephritis is a common infection in childhood and may cause renal scarring. The aim was to determine an effective oral antibiotic treatment of first time pyelonephritis in children.
Methods: The study is a retrospective analysis of positive urine cultures collected at a Danish paediatric department from 2010-2013.
The aim of this study was to investigate whether treatment with a low daily dose of 400 microg inhaled budesonide (Pulmicort Turbuhaler) in newly diagnosed asthmatics could influence the course of asthma. Seventy five adult patients, mostly with mild asthma, diagnosed during the previous year and bronchial hyperresponsiveness, participated in a double-blind, randomized, parallel-group multicentre study. They were treated with budesonide 200 microg b.

The aim of this study was to measure nonspecific bronchial responsiveness, lung function and inflammatory markers at different times after NO2 exposure in asthmatics. Nineteen subjects with mild asthma were exposed to either purified air or 488 micrograms.

This study examined plasma exudation into the bronchial lumen after allergen challenge. A novel low-trauma technique was developed to challenge and lavage a medium-sized lingular or middle lobe bronchus. Eleven subjects with challenge-assessed pollen-sensitive asthma were allocated to fiberbronchoscopy in the supine position.
