Aligned deposition of bottom-up grown nanowires by two-directional pressure-controlled contact printing.

Aligned large-scale deposition of nanowires grown in a bottom-up manner with high yield is a persisting challenge but required to assemble single-nanowire devices effectively. Contact printing is a powerful strategy in this regard but requires so far adequate adjustment of the tribological surface interactions between nanowires and target substrate, e.g.

Spinocerebellar ataxia type 15 (sca15) maps to 3p24.2-3pter: exclusion of the ITPR1 gene, the human orthologue of an ataxic mouse mutant.

We have studied a large Australian kindred with a dominantly inherited pure cerebellar ataxia, SCA15. The disease is characterised by a very slow rate of progression in some family members, and atrophy predominantly of the superior vermis, and to a lesser extent the cerebellar hemispheres. Repeat expansion detection failed to identify either a CAG/CTG or ATTCT/AGAAT repeat expansions segregating with the disease in this family.

Molecular cloning and chromatin structure analysis of the murine alpha1(I) collagen gene domain.

We have isolated molecular clones of genomic mouse DNA spanning 55 kb, including the entire coding region of the murine alpha1(I) collagen (Col1a1) gene and 24 kb of 5' and 13 kb of 3'-flanking sequences, and have performed a detailed chromatin structure analysis of these sequences. Several new DNase-I-hypersensitive sites were identified. The distal 5'-flanking region contains two clusters of DNase-I-hypersensitive sites located between 7 and 8 kb and between 15 and 20 kb upstream of the start site of transcription, respectively.
