Traditional meat production is known for its high energy consumption and significant carbon emissions, necessitating alternative approaches. Plant-based meat (PBM) offers a promising solution to reduce the ecological footprint of animal agriculture.

Relationship Between White Blood Cell Count and Bacteremia Using Interval Likelihood Ratios in Hospitalized Patients.

Background: Patients with bacteremia often have elevated white blood cell (WBC) and neutrophil counts, yet these alone are poor predictors of bacteremia. Data on the continuous relationship between WBC response and bacteremia are lacking.

Objective: This study aims to characterize the relationship of WBC count, neutrophil percentage, and absolute neutrophil count (ANC) to bacteremia using interval likelihood ratios (ILRs) derived from a large sample of hospitalized patients.

Calprotectin and N-telopeptide of Type I Collagen (NTx) as Gingival Crevicular Fluid (GCF) Biomarker in Peri-Implantitis Patients.

Introduction: Formulation of various preventive and therapeutic strategies is possible only by a better understanding of the immune-inflammatory profile of peri-implant diseases. For understanding the changes and turnover of bone, various markers have been used in the past literature, out of which, N-telopeptide of Type I Collagen (NTx) is acknowledged to be the most reliable marker.

Aims And Objectives: Assessment of calprotectin and NTx concentration in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) around the implant sites in subjects suffering from peri-implantitis.

A Fatal Case of Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis: A Diagnosis to Ponder in Pandemic.

Unlabelled: A 40-year-old woman known hypertensive presented with progressive ascending paralysis. MRI T2W and FLAIR screening of the brain demonstrated swelling with altered signal in the visual cervical cord, medulla, and another juxtacortical lesion in the right temporal lobe with possibility of a demyelinating etiology. CSF testing did not identify a direct cerebral infection.
