Background: Despite extensive literature studying how we make decisions in the face of uncertainty, the empirical study of real-world clinical decision-making in mental health practice remains limited. Decisions in clinical settings are not just made on the basis of clinical factors. A key non-clinical influence on decision making is the clinician's concerns about the 'threat' to themselves from a future adverse incident and the subsequent retrospective scrutiny of their decision-making.

Sialic acid-containing glycans (sialoglycans) on pathological cells interact with Siglecs, glyco-immune checkpoint receptors expressed on myeloid cells such as monocytes and neutrophils. This interaction suppresses the cytotoxic functions of these immune cells. We show that HIV infection reprograms the glycosylation machinery of infected cells to increase the expression of specific sialoglycan ligands for Siglecs-3, -7, and -9.

Antibiotic resistance is an alarming issue nowadays due to the increased use of antibiotics in humans, veterinary, fisheries, etc. Sulfonamides are one group of highly used antibiotics frequently detected in the environmental matrices. So, in the present study, we evaluated the sorption and dissipation of two commonly detected sulfonamide antibiotics in water (sulfamethazine (SMZ) and sulfamethoxazole (SMXZ)) in sandy loam soil and irrigation waters in the tropical region.
