Determination of antibacterial and antioxidant potential of organic crude extracts from Malus domestica, Cinnamomum verum and Trachyspermum ammi.

Plants are the rich source of biologically active compounds which can be obliging against various pathogenic microorganisms and cancerous diseases. The current study evaluated the antibacterial potential of aqueous, methanol, ethanol, and acetone extracts of Malus domestica (apple), Cinnamomum verum (cinnamon) and Trachyspermum ammi (ajwain) via agar well diffusion methods and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) in (mm) against Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 25923) and Salmonella typhi (ATCC 19430). The antioxidant properties including total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), DPPH and reducing power was determined by UV/VIS spectrophotometery and all the results interpreted through one way ANOVA (STATISTICA).

A Review of the Enablers and Barriers of Medical Student Participation in Research.

Unlabelled: Although research is an integral component in medicine, student participation in research remains limited. This is a systematic review conducted using rapid review methods conforming to the WHO and Cochrane guidelines to synthesise evidence on the enablers and barriers of medical student participation in research. PubMed, EMBASE, and PsycINFO were searched, yielding 27 final studies.

Real-world healthcare utilization and costs of peripheral nerve stimulation with a micro-IPG system.

Aim: To characterize real-world healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and costs in adults with chronic pain of peripheral nerve origin treated with peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) using the micro-implantable pulse generator (IPG).

Materials & Methods: This retrospective observational study (9/1/19-1/31/23) linked patients from the Nalu medical database to the OM1 Real-World Data Cloud (RWDC). Eligible patients received the micro-IPG implant for PNS, were identifiable in both databases, and had ≥ 12 months of RWDC pre/post-implantation claims data.

Identifying Unique Integrated Care Competencies to Inform Health Profession Curriculum Development.

Background: Integrated care can enhance health outcomes for patients, as well as improve healthcare efficiency for organisations. However, it is unclear what values and competencies health professionals need to develop at the pre-qualification stage to engage in integrated care practice upon graduation. Therefore, this review aimed to identify published integrated care competencies for professional entry health professional education programmes.
