Objectives: With more children receiving cochlear implants during infancy, there is a need for validated assessments of pre-verbal and early verbal auditory skills. The LittlEARS Auditory Questionnaire is presented here as the first module of the LittlEARS test battery. The LittlEARS Auditory Questionnaire was developed and piloted to assess the auditory behaviour of normal hearing children and hearing impaired children who receive a cochlear implant or hearing aid prior to 24 months of age.

A prospective study was performed to investigate the incidence of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) in patients with laryngopharyngeal symptoms. Laryngologic evaluation with nasopharyngeal and laryngeal endoscopy and gastroenterologic evaluation with esophagogastroduodenoscopy including measurement of pH value were performed in 46 patients.

The goal of any UNHSP is to perform a valid hearing screening on all newborn infants prior to hospital discharge. Ultimately hearing screening of all infants should decrease the age at which intervention is initiated in these who require it.

We report a 1 day old girl with a nasal mass that was diagnosed as an intranasal glioma. The tumor mass was noted to be localized laterally from, and based along, the inferior turbinate. Nasal glioma is a developmental abnormality of neurogenic origin with no malignant potential.
