Discrete control of individual dopant or impurity atoms is critical to the electrical characteristics and fabrication of silicon nanodevices. The unavoidable introduction of defects into silicon during the implantation process may prevent the uniform distribution of dopant atoms. Cottrell atmospheres are one such nonuniformity and occur when interstitial atoms interact with dislocations, pinning the dislocation and trapping the interstitial.

The predicted substitution at amino acid 2 in guinea pig (gp) GnRH was particularly intriguing because of the proposed importance of position 2 for binding and activation of the GnRH receptor. In the present study, gpGnRH was synthesized, and a specific antibody was generated and used to assess translation of the gpGnRH transcript.

In this study, knife cuts were made in the anterior hypothalamus, effectively separating more caudally positioned hypothalamic LHRH neurons from those in rostral preoptic areas. Guinea pigs with knife cuts displayed an LH surge in response to steroid administration.
