Objective: This study aimed to measure NP students' knowledge and perception of medical marijuana (MM) and determine whether they need additional education on the topic.

Methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive study was implemented. NP students were asked to complete a survey that assessed their knowledge of MM, including adverse reactions and medical indications.

A mixed-methods randomized controlled trial pilot study evaluated an educational curriculum focused on the medical needs of transition-age youth (TAY) with autism (ASD) for family nurse practitioner students. Fourteen out of a cohort of 16 (87.5%) nursing students consented to participate in the study and were randomly assigned to either a waitlist control group (WLC) (n = 8) or an intervention group (INT) (n = 6).

In the first few days and weeks after a child's birth, attachment is a major task for the mother and her newborn. Success in this long-term psychological process is associated with positive life-long outcomes for both the parenting mother and her child. This article proposes a relational approach to newborn nursing grounded in the principles of attachment theory.

The authors of this qualitative study explored the health-illness beliefs and practices of Haitians with HIV disease. The authors obtained a purposive sample of five Haitian men and four Haitian women with symptomatic HIV disease or AIDS living in Boston. Five themes were identified through content analysis of interviews and medical record review: (a) incorporation of traditional health-illness beliefs into beliefs about HIV disease; (b) A perceived need to hide HIV disease to avoid rejection, humiliation, and isolation; (c) use of spirituality to help cope with HIV disease; (d) history of limited contact with doctors prior to diagnosis of HIV disease; and (e) use of traditional healing practices for HIV disease.
