Tumor cell growth, invasion, and metastasis are dependent on the tumor microenvironment. Many studies emphasize a correlation between the material characteristics of the tumor extracellular matrix (ECM) and the invasive properties of tumor cells and even a trigger of tumor aggressiveness.
