Purpose Of The Study: Intraarticular fractures of the distal femur rank among the most severe musculoskeletal injuries. Various treatment options, such as plate osteosynthesis or retrograde nailing, can be employed. This study aims to evaluate the clinical outcomes and complications of intraarticular distal femoral fractures treated with retrograde femoral nail, with particular emphasis on C3 fractures.

Article Synopsis
  • The common marmoset has become increasingly popular in neuroscience research over the past 20 years, especially for studying human brain diseases, but marmoset-specific research tools are often limited and must be created within labs.
  • A team has designed and tested various imaging and measurement techniques for studying marmosets, including MRI, PET, CT, and electrophysiology, and has made these designs publicly accessible to help ease the burden on researchers.
  • They provide numerous computer-aided design (CAD) files, software, and resources, including tools for neuroimaging and experimental stimuli, through the Marmoset Brain Connectome website to support further advancements in marmoset neuroscience.

Until causal prophylaxis is available, the avoidance of ticks and personal protection provide the best insurance against contracting a tick-borne disease (TBD). To support public precaution, tick-activity forecasts (TAFs) based on weather projection are provided online for some regions/countries. This study-aimed at evaluating the efficacy of this preventative strategy-was conducted between 2015 and 2019, and included two countries where TAFs are issued regularly (Czech Republic, Germany) and two neighbouring countries for reference (Austria, Switzerland).

The common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus) is gaining attention in the field of cognitive neuroscience. The development of an effective protocol for fMRI data acquisition in awake marmosets is a key factor in developing reliable comparative studies. Here, we describe a protocol to obtain fMRI data in awake marmosets using auditory and visual stimulation.

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY Carpometacarpal (CMC) instabilities of the thumb joint occur after injuries or due to joint overload in patients with congenital joint hypermobility. They are often undiagnosed and, if left untreated, are the basis for the development of rhizarthrosis in young individuals. The authors present the results of the Eaton-Littler technique.
