Sedimentation velocity analytical ultracentrifugation (SV-AUC) has become the "gold standard" for characterization of the empty, partial, and full capsids of gene therapy products (e.g., AAV and Adenovirus vectors).

Article Synopsis
  • Robots that closely interact with people, like exoskeletons and medical devices, are set to improve our lives significantly, but their design is challenging due to human complexity and unpredictable responses.
  • A new strategy called human-in-the-loop optimization helps overcome these challenges by tailoring device features to enhance user performance based on specific needs and contexts.
  • This approach not only improves human-robot collaboration in research but also presents opportunities for developing new optimization techniques, ultimately aiming to create devices that better the human experience.

Background: Maternity support workers (MSWs) are now a key part of the maternity workforce. They work in environments with potential exposure to traumatic events, but little is known about their rates of exposure or psychological responses.

Objectives: We aimed to identify the proportion of MSWs reporting exposure to a traumatic work event and consequential rates of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Deafness-causing deficiencies in () have been addressed preclinically using dual adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based approaches. However, timing of transduction, recombination of mRNA, and protein expression with dual hybrid AAV methods methods have not previously been characterized. Here, we have established an assay to determine the kinetics of dual-AAV mediated expression of in hair cells of the mouse utricle.

Objective: To examine the postnatal psychological health and parenting adjustment of primiparous women experiencing perineal trauma.

Study Design: Longitudinal cohort study assessing body image, perceptions of traumatic birth, psychological distress, perineal pain, impact upon parental tasks and mother-infant bonding at 6-12 weeks (n = 103) and 6-10 months postnatally (n = 91). Primiparous women were recruited following vaginal birth and perineal suturing in a UK-based maternity hospital.
