Percutaneous Removal of Cardiac Papillary Fibroelastomas.

Papillary fibroelastomas (PFEs) are primary cardiac tumors associated with significant embolic risk. Surgical excision or medical therapy with antiplatelets and/or anticoagulants have been the treatment options for symptomatic patients. This paper reports our early experiences of percutaneous removal of PFE using mechanical aspiration techniques.

The association of seizure control with neuropathology in dementia.

Seizures in people with dementia (PWD) are associated with faster cognitive decline and worse clinical outcomes. However, the relationship between ongoing seizure activity and postmortem neuropathology in PWD remains unexplored. We compared post-mortem findings in PWD with active, remote, and no seizures using multicentre data from 39 Alzheimer's Disease Centres from 2005 to 2021.

Pesticide safety behavior among vegetable farmers in Bangladesh: Evaluating the role of market aggregation services.

Pesticide use in Bangladesh is disproportionately high in vegetable farming compared to other crops like cereals, pulses, and cash crops. This study delves into the knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding pesticide use among vegetable farmers, focusing on the impact of a digital aggregation service implemented by Digital Green. Based on interviews with 120 vegetable farmers in the LOOP aggregation scheme and 120 non-LOOP vegetable farmers this study indicates that the farmers using the aggregation service have a moderately higher level of food safety knowledge.

"Missing Mobility": Perspectives of North American Firefighters on the Risks and Causes of Work-Related Shoulder Disorders: A Qualitative Study.

Background: Firefighters are routinely exposed to significant work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSDs) which can sometimes be career-ending due to the workplace stressors and the physical demands of the job. Shoulder disorders are the third most frequent WRMSDs that cause pain, disability, and morbidity in the general working population. However, little is known about the task-specific causes and risk factors for work-related shoulder disorders (WSDs) among firefighters (FFs).

Background: Urinalysis is a commonly performed test for the diagnosis and prognosis of kidney disease in hospitalized patients. It involves examining the chemical composition of the urine and microscopy to examine the cells and casts. In clinical settings, urinalysis is frequently delayed by several hours after sample collection and held at room temperature.
