The coherent control of interacting spins in semiconductor quantum dots is of strong interest for quantum information processing and for studying quantum magnetism from the bottom up. Here we present a 2 × 4 germanium quantum dot array with full and controllable interactions between nearest-neighbour spins. As a demonstration of the level of control, we define four singlet-triplet qubits in this system and show two-axis single-qubit control of each qubit and SWAP-style two-qubit gates between all neighbouring qubit pairs, yielding average single-qubit gate fidelities of 99.

Introduction: Penetrating thoracic trauma with retained foreign bodies, such as needles, is rare. These injuries present management challenges due to diverse aetiologies and potential complications, including tension pneumothorax, cardiac tamponade, and major haemorrhage. Cardiac penetration can result in arrhythmias, ischaemia, valvular and septal defects.

As there has been no scientific evidence of the bioactivity of (Adoxaceae) extracts against insects, we chemically characterized leaves and flowers extracted in methanol and water. The crude extracts, phenolic compounds, and amino acids isolated were tested as larvicides against the fourth-instar larvae of and (Diptera: Culicidae). To understand their mode of action, we evaluated the in vitro acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor effect of the crude extracts on the two mosquito larvae through a colorimetric method.

Background: The overexpression of efflux pumps (Eps) was reported to contribute to multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB). Increases in Eps that expel structurally unrelated drugs contribute to reduced susceptibility by decreasing the intracellular concentration of antibiotics. In the present study, an association of mycobacterial membrane protein (MmpS5-MmpL5) Ep and its gene regulator (Rv0678) was investigated in MDR-tuberculosis isolates.

Purpose: To prospectively compare changes in myocardial blood flow (MBF) and myocardial flow reserve (MFR) in multivessel coronary artery disease (MVCAD) patients undergoing incomplete revascularization (IR) versus complete revascularization (CR) by coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG).

Methods: Seven male patients (age 68 ± 9 years) with MVCAD underwent myocardial perfusion PET/CT with [13N]ammonia before and at least 4 months after CABG. Segmental resting and stress MBF as well as MFR were measured.
