The INGENIOUS project: towards understanding air pollution in homes.

This paper provides an overview of the INGENIOUS (UnderstandING the sourcEs, traNsformations and fates of IndOor air pollUtantS) project, aiming to better understand air pollution in homes. Although our homes are the microenvironment in which we spend most of our time, we know relatively little about the sources, transformation processes and fates of indoor air pollutants, or our exposure to them. INGENIOUS aims to address this knowledge gap by delivering: an indoor emissions inventory for UK homes; comprehensive air pollutant measurements in 310 homes in Bradford using a combination of low cost-sensors and more advanced air quality instrumentation; an analysis of the impact of indoor air pollution on outdoor air quality and using mobile measurements; insight into future indoor air quality using detailed air pollution models; identification of indoor air pollutants that warrant further toxicological study; and better understanding of the barriers and facilitators for behaviour that drives improved indoor air quality.

The effects of sex and load on quantifying the bilateral force deficit during an upper body Wingate test.

Introduction: The bilateral deficit (BLD) is a reduction in the amount of force during a bilateral task vs. the total force from the unilateral limbs performing the same task. We quantified the BLD during an upper body Wingate Anaerobic Test (WAnT) and evaluated the influence of sex and load on the BLD in force.

Return to preinjury pivoting sports after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction is different between males and females, as are the patient-reported reasons.

Purpose: To investigate return to sport (RTS) after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR), differences based on sex and concomitant meniscal repair, and identify reasons why patients do not RTS.

Methods: Overall, 232 patients undergoing ACLR, with or without concomitant meniscal repair, that were actively participating in pivoting sports at the time of injury, were prospectively recruited. At 2 years, return to preinjury pivoting sport was investigated and, if they had returned, whether they felt their performance was at (or better) or below preinjury status.

Rehabilitation and assessment practices following anterior cruciate ligament injury: A survey of Australian physiotherapists.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the current beliefs and practices among Australian physiotherapists regarding the management of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries.

Design: Cross-sectional survey.

Embedding AI-Enabled Data Infrastructures for Sustainability in Agri-Food: Soft-Fruit and Brewery Use Case Perspectives.

The agri-food sector is undergoing a comprehensive transformation as it transitions towards net zero. To achieve this, fundamental changes and innovations are required, including changes in how food is produced and delivered to customers, new technologies, data and physical infrastructures, and algorithmic advancements. In this paper, we explore the opportunities and challenges of deploying AI-based data infrastructures for sustainability in the agri-food sector by focusing on two case studies: soft-fruit production and brewery operations.
