In the face of escalating environmental challenges such as fossil fuel dependence and water pollution, innovative solutions are essential for sustainable development. In this regard, zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs), specifically ZIF-8, act as promising photocatalysts for environmental remediation and renewable energy applications. ZIF-8, a subclass of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), is renowned for its large specific surface area, high porosity, rapid electron transfer ability, abundant functionalities, ease of designing, controllable properties, and remarkable chemical and thermal stability.

Background: Haemorrhage remains the leading cause of preventable mortality following trauma, often aggravated by the acidosis, hypothermia and coagulopathy-the lethal triad of trauma. However, the impact of trauma-induced hypocalcemia on the haemorrhage remains unclear. It is intuitive to consider perturbations of ionised calcium early during trauma resuscitation in acutely injured patients given its pathophysiological significance for an improved outcome.

The oxygenases are essential in the bioremediation of xenobiotic pollutants. To overcome cultivability constraints, this study aims to identify new potential extradiol dioxygenases using the functional metagenomics approach. RW1-4CC, a novel catechol 2,3-dioxygenase, was isolated using functional metagenomics approach, expressed in a heterologous system, and characterized thoroughly using state-of-the-art techniques.

Small RNA sequencing analysis in two chickpea genotypes, JG 62 (Fusarium wilt-susceptible) and WR 315 (Fusarium wilt-resistant), under Fusarium wilt stress led to identification of 544 miRNAs which included 406 known and 138 novel miRNAs. A total of 115 miRNAs showed differential expression in both the genotypes across different combinations. A miRNA, Car-miR398 targeted copper chaperone for superoxide dismutase (CCS) that, in turn, regulated superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity during chickpea-Foc interaction.

Introduction: To investigate outcomes in adults with type 2 diabetes who switched to once-weekly (OW) semaglutide from another glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1RA) in clinical practice.

Methods: This post hoc analysis used data from the SemaglUtide Real-world Evidence (SURE) program, which included nine observational studies investigating the initiation of OW semaglutide in people with type 2 diabetes in routine clinical practice. Using a random coefficient-adjusted mixed model for repeated measurements, changes in glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA), body weight, and body mass index were analyzed for GLP-1RA-experienced patients who had at least one documented HbA value within the 12 weeks before switching to OW semaglutide.
