Emergency Department and Out-of-Hospital Emergency System (112-AREU 118) integrated response to Coronavirus Disease 2019 in a Northern Italy centre.

Since December 2019, the world has been facing the life-threatening disease, named Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19), recognized as a pandemic by the World Health Organization. The response of the Emergency Medicine network, integrating "out-of-hospital" and "hospital" activation, is crucial whenever the health system has to face a medical emergency, being caused by natural or human-derived disasters as well as by a rapidly spreading epidemic outbreak. We here report the Pavia Emergency Medicine network response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Liver ischemia modifies the concentration of plasmatic catecholamines after reperfusion in the rat.

Pulmonary hypertension is one of the most frequent and severe consequences of liver ischemia. The aim of this study is to evaluate the presence of humoral vasoactive mediators, generated during liver ischemia, which could be able to determine the onset of pulmonary hypertension. Thus, we evaluated the plasmatic concentration of catecholamines (adrenaline, noradrenaline, dopamine) during the immediate reperfusion period.

[Duodenal schwannoma. Clinical considerations].

The recent observation of a case of schwannoma in the second part of the duodenum lead the authors to a literature survey in order to state the present knowledge of this subject. Schwannoma is an ectodermal neoplasm arising from the nerve sheath that envelop axons. In the gastrointestinal tract these tumours can concern cells of the myentericus and submucosus plexus of the intestinal wall.
