Optimising Cancer Surgery During COVID-19: Experience of Tertiary Cancer Centre in Eastern India.

Purpose: The timely management of cancer surgery suffered due to COVID-19 and nationwide lockdown. Continuing cancer surgery was a challenge faced by all. We present our experience on cancer surgery in a cancer centre with high volume of patients and limited resources during early pandemic.

Clinicopathological study of malignant melanoma in a regional cancer center.

Background: : Malignant melanoma is a tumor of melanocytic origin. Although uncommon in India as compared with the west, its prevalence is increasing.

Objectives: To document the pattern of clinicopathological features of malignant melanoma cases attending in a regional cancer center in eastern India.

Effects of cognitive-behavioral therapy on anxiety in children with autism spectrum disorders: a randomized controlled trial.

We compared the effects of a 16-week Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) program and a Social Recreational (SR) program on anxiety in children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Seventy children (9-16 years old) were randomly assigned to either of the programs (n (CBT) = 36; n (SR) = 34). Measures on child's anxiety using the Spence Child Anxiety Scale--Child (SCAS-C) and the Clinical Global Impression-Severity scale (CGI--S) were administered at pre-, post-treatment, and follow-ups (3- and 6-month).

Effects of cognitive-behavioural therapy on anxiety for children with high-functioning autistic spectrum disorders.

Introduction: Children with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) often exhibit one or more comorbid disorders, including anxiety, disruptive behaviour, mental retardation, and depression. Various studies have documented the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) in treating children with anxiety. Although studies have indicated a high prevalence of anxiety in individuals with ASD, there is a lack of systematic studies substantiating the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioural interventions among children with high-functioning autism.

Anorexia nervosa in Singapore: an eight-year retrospective study.

Introduction: Information regarding the clinical features of patients with anorexia nervosa in Singapore is rare and there have not been any large studies published to date. The aims of this paper were to study the clinical characteristics and features of patients with anorexia nervosa in Singapore, and to compare the clinical features of the early versus the classical later-onset cases.

Methods: 126 cases presenting to the Child Guidance Clinic and the Eating Disorder Clinic at the Institute of Mental Health between 1994 and 2002 were identified and studied retrospectively.
