A questionnaire study covering a large number of urological patients is carried out in an attempt to establish the extent to which the services of paramedical healers are sought, as well as the underlying motivation involved. It is demonstrated that 13.12 per cent of the inquired refer to alternative medicine specialists.

The conservative treatment in both acute and chronic stage of the disease proves ineffective. Operative treatment is the basic one, and is aimed at radical removal of the granulation tissue and injected lipid material deposits.

In two groups of 25 urological patients each, with and free of urinary infection, Urostim is administered fifteen days before and after the operation. The prophylactic effect of the drug in terms of hospital transmitted wound and urinary infections is recorded on the basis of comparative study with control groups. As shown by the results obtained, Urostim immunoprophylaxis yields positive results in urological practice.

A study was performed based on the results of 4256 primary endoscopies of the stomach and duodenum: 3673 in nonoperated patients and 583 in patients having undergone vagotomy and resection. For duodenogastric reflux one judged from the yellow coloration of the gastric juice and regurgitation of bile at the moment of examination.

According to modern concepts, only early operative treatment of cryptorchidism may guarantee good results. This has been proven by the results obtained by the authors, who for five years have on mass prophylactic examination (1984-1988) searched for cryptorchidism in children attending kindergartens in the town of Tolbukhin. In this way the authors succeeded in realising highest operative activity in the age from 3 to 4 years.
