Metabolomic analysis of the changes in plasma metabolites in obesity along with physical activity interaction may contribute to disease diagnosis and treatment. We sought to make a comprehensive assessment of the plasma metabolite profile of subjects with a lean ( = 20, BMI = 22.3) or overweight/obese ( = 29, BMI = 29) body mass index (BMI) and low ( = 33, IPAQ = 842) or high ( = 16, IPAQ = 6935) index of physical activity questionnaire (IPAQ), using an untargeted metabolomic approach.

Background: Soccer is the most recognized sports worldwide. It is a fertile ground for the use of metabolomics analyses, considering the multifactorial nature of soccer's physical demands on the body. Although scientific studies have tried using it to better understand the impacts of soccer into different contexts of the sport, no systematic review is available on metabolomics analyses in soccer athletes subjected to physical exertion interventions.

: Major depressive disorder is a significant public health concern linked to factors such as a low-quality diet, a sedentary lifestyle, and poor sleep quality, all of which contribute to its development; nevertheless, the existing literature lacks a comprehensive framework to effectively integrate these interrelated influences. : To address this gap, we conducted a questionnaire-based study involving 411 individuals aged 18 to 74 and employed a weighted complex network model to clarify the associations among nutritional factors, physical activity levels, psychological parameters, and sleep profiles and depression. In addition to constructing networks that encompass distinct subgroups based on general context, sex differences (female vs.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of 8 weeks of hypoxic exposition and physical training on healthy mice femur outcomes analyzed through conventional statistic and complex networks. The mice were divided into four groups, subjected to physical training (T; 40 min per day at 80% of critical velocity intensity) or not (N), exposed to hypoxic environment ("Living High-Training Low" model - LHTL; 18 h per day, FIO=19.5%; Hyp) or not (Nor).

Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most incident and the second most lethal malignant tumor. Despite the recognized association between obesity and CRC, further clarification is necessary regarding the lipids that are overexpressed during the development of CRC. In this scenario, the combination of metabolomics and a three-dimensional (3D) co-culture model involving CRC tumor cells and lipids can enhance the knowledge of energy metabolism modifications at the cross-talk between colorectal cancer and adipocytes.
