The effects of a brief intervention at home based on shared reading to promote children's oral language.

Purpose: The general aim of the present study was to analyse eight mother-child interactions during shared reading with children and to assess the efficacy of a brief intervention with the mothers to promote changes in the strategies they used to develop their children's oral language. The specific objectives were to work collaboratively with mothers, to analyse the interactions between mothers and their children before and at the end of the intervention period.

Methods: Mothers participated in five meetings to reflect collaboratively on strategies to promote improvements in communicative interactions in a family context and in children's oral language and during the shared reading episodes.

Impact of a Disease-Focused Electronic Health Record Dashboard on Clinical Staff Efficiency in Previsit Patient Review in an Ambulatory Pulmonary Hypertension Care Clinic.

Objectives:  We aimed to improve the operational efficiency of clinical staff, including physicians and allied health professionals, in the previsit review of patients by implementing a disease-focused dashboard within the electronic health record system. The dashboard was tailored to the unique requirements of the clinic and patient population.

Methods:  A prospective quality improvement study was conducted at an accredited pulmonary hypertension (PH) clinic within a large academic center, staffed by two full time physicians and two allied health professionals.

Spermatogonial stem cell (SSC) technologies that are currently under clinical development to reverse human infertility hold the potential to be adapted and applied for the conservation of endangered and vulnerable wildlife species. The biobanking of testis tissue containing SSCs from wildlife species, aligned with that occurring in pediatric human patients, could facilitate strategies to improve the genetic diversity and fitness of endangered populations. Approaches to utilize these SSCs could include spermatogonial transplantation or testis tissue grafting into a donor animal of the same or a closely related species, or in vitro spermatogenesis paired with assisted reproduction approaches.

Objective: To describe an effective two-step surgical approach for the management of cesarean scar ectopic pregnancies (CSEPs). CSEPs occur at an estimated frequency of 1 in 1,800 pregnancies, constituting approximately 6% of ectopic pregnancies in women with a history of prior cesarean delivery [1, 2]. Despite numerous recommended therapeutic approaches, the most effective treatment strategy remains uncertain [3].
