Rationale And Objectives: The combination of functional biologic data and imaging appearance has the potential to add diagnostic information to help the radiologist evaluate breast masses in an efficient, effective, and cost-conscious manner. This is the first clinical evaluation of the Gen 2(Model 9100, 8101) Imagio® System to assess image quality with both the stand-alone internal ultrasound (IUS), ultrasound-only transducer, and the Optoacoustic/Ultrasound (OA/US) duplex probe (1,2). This study assesses palpable and non-palpable breast abnormalities in patients who are referred for diagnostic breast ultrasound work-up.

Background: The integration of anaerobic digestion into bio-based industries can create synergies that help render anaerobic digestion self-sustaining. Two-stage digesters with separate acidification stages allow for the production of green hydrogen and short-chain fatty acids, which are promising industrial products. Heat shocks can be used to foster the production of these products, the practical applicability of this treatment is often not addressed sufficiently, and the presented work therefore aims to close this gap.

The development of bone adhesive materials is a research field of high relevance for the advancement of clinical procedures. Despite this, there are currently no material candidates meeting the full range of requirements placed on such a material, such as biocompatibility, sufficient mechanical properties and bond strength under biological conditions, practical applicability in a clinical setting, and no adverse effect on the healing process itself. A serious obstacle to the advancement of the field is a lack in standardized methodology leading to comparable results between experiments and different research groups.

Previous studies showed that aphid performance was compromised on Brassica nigra infected by root-lesion nematodes (Pratylenchus penetrans, Pp), but less, or positively influenced by root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne spp.) infection. These experiments were on single-species nematode infections, but roots can be infected naturally with several nematode species simultaneously.

Background: The holistic characterization of different microbiomes in anaerobic digestion (AD) systems can contribute to a better understanding of these systems and provide starting points for bioengineering. The present study investigates the microbiome of 80 European full-scale AD systems. Operational, chemical and taxonomic data were thoroughly collected, analysed and correlated to identify the main drivers of AD processes.
