Article Synopsis
  • HIV infection is a significant risk factor for stroke, particularly among young adults, and this study focuses on the outcomes of stroke in people living with HIV in Cameroon.
  • A retrospective analysis was conducted on 43 PLWH who experienced a stroke, revealing that most had a low cardiovascular risk score, yet 46.5% died within a year, indicating high mortality rates.
  • The findings suggest that the Framingham score may not accurately reflect cardiovascular risks in this population, highlighting the need for better assessment methods for PLWH.
