Predicting Clinician Fixations on Glaucoma OCT Reports via CNN-Based Saliency Prediction Methods.

To predict physician fixations specifically on ophthalmology optical coherence tomography (OCT) reports from eye tracking data using CNN based saliency prediction methods in order to aid in the education of ophthalmologists and ophthalmologists-in-training. Fifteen ophthalmologists were recruited to each examine 20 randomly selected OCT reports and evaluate the likelihood of glaucoma for each report on a scale of 0-100. Eye movements were collected using a Pupil Labs Core eye-tracker.

Confluent and Reticulate Papillomatosis: A Retrospective Study from southern India.

Background: Confluent and reticulate papillomatosis (CRP) is an uncommon benign, acquired keratinization disorder. Studies on this disorder are lacking except for a few case reports and there is a paucity of Indian literature on the condition.

Objectives/methods: To study and describe the various morphological patterns and histopathological findings, as well as assess the response to treatment of 30 patients diagnosed with CRP.

Pseudotumor and Subsequent Implant Loosening as a Complication of Revision Total Hip Arthroplasty with Ceramic-on-Metal Bearing: A Case Report.

Pseudotumors are not uncommon complications after total hip arthroplasty (THA) and may occur due to differences in bearing surfaces of the head and the liner ranging from soft to hard articulation. The most common causes of pseudotumors are foreign-body reaction, hypersensitivity and wear debris. The spectrum of pseudotumor presentation following THA varies greatly-from completely asymptomatic to clear implant failure.

Production of naringinase from a new soil isolate, Bacillus methylotrophicus: isolation, optimization and scale-up studies.

Five strains of naringin-degrading bacteria were isolated and found to be positive for extracellular naringinase activity. The one that showed highest activity in the selective medium was identified by 16S rRNA analysis as Bacillus methylotrophicus . The best combination of carbon-nitrogen source was determined by employing two-level full factorial analyses, comprising 24 experiments in shake flasks.
