Aims: Primary outcome was to evaluate patients' satisfaction after being treated with bulk injection therapy polydimethylsiloxane Urolastic (PDMS-U) for stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Secondary outcomes were: subjective cure, objective cure, severity of SUI symptoms, complications, reintervention rate, and disease-specific quality of life. Furthermore, to determine if outcomes worsened during time-after-treatment (time-frames: 0-12, 13-24, and ≥25 months).

Background: Identifying men for a repeat prostate biopsy is a conundrum to urologists. Risk calculators (RCs) such as the European Randomized Study of Screening for Prostate Cancer (ERSPC) RCs have been developed to predict the outcome of prostate biopsies and have been shown to improve diagnostic accuracy compared to PSA alone. However, it was recently shown that the outcome for high-grade prostate cancer (PCa) upon biopsy tended to be underestimated in men with previous negative biopsies using ERSPC RC model 4.

Transurethral microwave thermotherapy in benign prostatic hyperplasia.

This article reviews the available literature and data on high-energy transurethral microwave therapy (TUMT) in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) causing lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). TUMT is a safe, durable, (1-hour) procedure, without the need for anesthesia. Emphasis is made on the effect and mechanism of TUMT, the different devices available including different energy protocols, and accompanying clinical results.

Cerebral blood flow during migraine attacks without aura and effect of sumatriptan.

Objective: To study regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) during migraine attacks without aura and after treatment with sumatriptan.

Design And Intervention: We performed three technetium Tc99m hexemethyl-propyleneamineoxime single photon emission computed tomography scanning procedures in patients with migraine who participated in a double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized clinical trial (1) outside an attack, (2) during an attack, and (3) after treatment of the attack with 6 mg of subcutaneous sumatriptan.
