: Crohn's disease (CD) is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) that also affects pediatric patients. It frequently presents as a localized disease, affecting the ileocecal area, ileum, or colon. It requires targeted therapy to achieve a good quality of life and long-term control of disease activity.

High WTAP expression level as a promising biomarker for poor prognosis in colorectal cancer: a pilot study.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a major public health concern and identifying prognostic molecular biomarkers can help stratify patients based on risk profiles, thus enabling personalized medicine. Epitranscriptomic modifications play a relevant role in controlling gene expression, N6-methyladenosine (m6A) regulators play crucial roles in cancer progression, but their clinical significance in CRC cancer has thus far not been elucidated. Thus, we aimed to examine by immunohistochemical techniques and RT-qPCR, protein levels and RNAs expression of m6A writers (METTL3, WTAP) and eraser (FTO) in a cohort of 10 patients affected by CRC.

Optimal care involves collaboration between several professional figures like oncologists, endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, surgeons, and dietitians.

Background: High microsatellite instability (MSI) represents a small subgroup of gastric cancer (GC) with favorable prognostic and predictive significance. This study aimed to investigate locoregional lymph node (LN) involvement, overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), and the interplay between molecular subtypes and histologic profiles regarding survival outcomes in MSI GC vs microsatellite stability (MSS) GC.

Methods: This study included 72 patients with GC who underwent surgery with or without chemotherapy from 2017 to 2023.

: Lymphadenectomy plays a central role in the treatment of localized colon cancer. While in left colon cancer the D3 lymphadenectomy/CME is considered the standard of care, lymphatic stations to be removed in right colon cancer are still a matter of discussion. The individuation of LNM risk factors could help in choosing the lymphadenectomy in right-sided tumors.
