Clinical and GCF outcomes of Minimally-invasive non-surgical periodontal therapy in teeth with bone loss to the apex. A prospective study.

Aims: The aim of this prospective study was to assess the potential benefits of minimally-invasive non-surgical therapy (MINST) in the healing of intrabony defects reaching the apex.

Methods: Twenty systemically healthy patients with stage III-IV periodontitis and with at least one tooth with an intrabony defect reaching the apex were included in the study. Step 1 and 2 periodontal therapy including MINST were provided to all patients and patients were then followed up to 12 months post-treatment.

Survival rates of dental implants in patients with head and neck pathologies: 12-year single-operator study.

Objective: To evaluate the survival rates of dental implants placed in patients with head and neck pathologies treated with resective surgery with or without free flap reconstruction, radiotherapy alone, and/or chemotherapy.

Study Design: In this study, we retrospectively analyzed the survival of intraoral dental implants placed by the same surgeon over a 12-year period from 2007 to 2019. These implants were followed up clinically and radiographically for a period of 36 months postoperatively and throughout the restorative phase.

Patients' and dentists' perceptions of tele-dentistry at the time of COVID-19. A questionnaire-based study.

Objectives: COVID-19 has had a significant impact on dentistry in unforeseen ways, including a substantial rise in the development and implementation of video consultations. The research aimed to investigate dentists' and patients' attitudes towards dental video consultations (tele-dentistry) and to identify potential ways to improve the experience.

Methods: A cross-sectional, pre-post design, online survey was carried out with patients' and dentists' before and after video consultations.

Redeployment of Dental Core Trainees in the United Kingdom due to Coronavirus Disease 2019.

Objective:  The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has affected professionals in all fields; none more so than medical and dental professionals. As dental core trainees (DCT) working in hospitals, we have been at the forefront of the crisis and one of the first in line for redeployment. Therefore, we decided to investigate the impact of COVID-19 on the redeployment of DCTs across the UK.
