Article Synopsis
  • Gastric adenomas are rare neoplastic lesions in the stomach, less common than other types of polyps, and often linked to mucosal atrophy and intestinal changes, with a risk for cancer development.
  • A case was reported involving a 66-year-old woman who was found to have a gastric adenoma during a routine procedure before surgery for an ovarian tumor.
  • Remarkably, her gastric adenoma showed spontaneous regression after 14 months, making it the first documented instance of this phenomenon without any medical intervention.

Multimodal fusion networks play a pivotal role in leveraging diverse sources of information for enhanced machine learning applications in aerial imagery. However, current approaches often suffer from a bias towards certain modalities, diminishing the potential benefits of multimodal data. This paper addresses this issue by proposing a novel modality utilization-based training method for multimodal fusion networks.

Article Synopsis
  • Patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are at a higher risk for hepatitis B virus (HBV) and should ideally be vaccinated; this study evaluated the effectiveness of HBV vaccination among these patients and factors influencing their immune response.
  • A total of 409 IBD patients were studied, with 66.7% responding to the initial vaccination; those with lower body mass index had better immune responses, while certain disease types and treatments negatively impacted response rates.
  • Among nonresponders receiving revaccination, 58.3% achieved protective antibody levels, indicating that enhanced revaccination could benefit about half of these patients despite overall lower responsiveness compared to the general population.

The present study shows how posterior malleolus fractures (PMFs) and distal fibular fractures were fixed using the posterolateral approach with the patient in lateral decubitus position, not previously described in the literature. This technique has been used in 60 consecutive patients (42 women and 18 men; mean age 54.7; range 21-92 years), 33 of which presented as fracture dislocations from March, 2021 to December, 2023.

Objective: To obtain insight in the spectrum of narcolepsy symptoms and associated burden in a large cohort of patients.

Methods: We used the Narcolepsy Monitor, a mobile app, to easily rate the presence and burden of 20 narcolepsy symptoms. Baseline measures were obtained and analyzed from 746 users aged between 18 and 75 years with a reported diagnosis of narcolepsy.
