Background: The use of artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize medication therapy management (MTM) in identifying drug interactions may potentially improve MTM efficiency. ChatGPT, an AI language model, may be applied to identify medication interventions by integrating patient and drug databases. ChatGPT has been shown to be effective in other areas of clinical medicine, from diagnosis to patient management.

Carotid arterial blowout after organ preserving chemoradiation therapy in hypopharyngeal cancer.

Laryngeal preserving concurrent chemoradiation has been advocated for hypopharyngeal cancers. The use of radiotherapy (RT) in the larynx could lead to increased rates of radionecrosis. In this study, we investigated a rare but disastrous complication, carotid blow-out syndrome (CBS), related with the persistent radionecrosis.

A 140-year record of environmental changes in São Sebastião, Brazil.

Over the past two centuries, coastal and estuarine areas have experienced environmental stress due to rapid population growth, leading to higher demand, overexploitation, habitat transformation, and pollution, which have severe consequences on the overall ecosystem and human health. This work aims to understand historical perspectives of such environmental stress in a coastal area of São Sebastião city in the São Paulo State of Brazil, which has witnessed rapid changes in land use over the past 60-70 years. We collected eleven surface sediments and one 64 cm long core from the shallow water depth sector of the São Sebastião Channel (SSC), adjacent to the Araçá Bay region.

Incremental and decremental cardiopulmonary exercise testing protocols produce similar maximum oxygen uptake in athletes.

The aim of the study was to evaluate and compare the maximal oxygen uptake ([Formula: see text]O) achieved during incremental and decremental protocols in highly trained athletes. Nineteen moderate trained runners and rowers completed, on separate days, (i) an initial incremental [Formula: see text]O test (INC) on a treadmill, followed by a verification phase (VER); (ii) a familiarization of a decremental test (DEC); (iii) a tailored DEC; (iv) a test with decremental and incremental phases (DEC-INC); (v) and a repeated incremental test (INC). During each test [Formula: see text]O, carbon dioxide production, ventilation, heart and breath rates and ratings of perceived exertion were measured.

Familial Aggregation of Head and Neck Cancer in Taiwan.

Objectives: Head and neck cancer (HNC) incidence has been increasing worldwide. We investigated the familial aggregation of developing HNC if a first-degree relative (FDR) is affected in a large database.

Methods: This retrospective study utilized Taiwan National Health Insurance Database to assemble a cohort of all registered beneficiaries from 1997 to 2013 and identified diagnosed HNC patients with affected FDRs.
