As baby boomers reach retirement, the need to develop realistic plans is pressing. Recent political and social developments involving Social Security, savings accounts, and pensions indicate a need for greater self-sufficiency. The greatest challenges facing retirees are maintenance of self-sufficiency, productivity, generativity, and social satisfaction.
