To solve the existing problems of low yield, uneven quality, and single form of industrially scrambled eggs, we have developed a continuous high-output steam scrambled egg device based on the principle of steam injected. By establishing calibration curves for egg, oil, and steam flow rates, determining the key parameters of the equipment, and simulating the heat transfer process between steam and egg by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), we created the device and verified its production performance. The results show that the capacity of this device can reach 104.

Background: The best tool for the management of pain associated with distal symmetric peripheral neuropathy (DSPN) is a matter of debate. Therefore, the study aimed to explore whether ultrasound-guided pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) therapy of the stellate ganglion (SG) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients with painful DSPN could decrease pain severity and the need for analgesics.

Methods: Fifty-six T2DM patients with refractory painful DSPN were enrolled in this study, who then received bilateral ultrasound-guided PRF therapy of SG.

Although gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) can present with various histological characteristics, GIST mimicking perineurioma has not been previously reported. We present the case of a 47-year-old woman diagnosed with GIST after laparoscopic resection of a stomach tumor near the lesser curvature of the gastric body close to the cardia. Morphological features resembled a perineurioma.

Aim: Transitional care in the emergency department (ED) has the potential to improve outcomes for older patients, but the specific population benefits from it and impact in Taiwan remain unclear. Therefore, we conducted this study.

Methods: An interdisciplinary team comprising emergency physicians, dedicated transitional care nurse (TCN), nurse practitioners, nurses, geriatricians, and social workers was established at a tertiary medical center.

Article Synopsis
  • STEAP3 is a critical protein associated with cervical cancer (CC) progression, showing strong expression in CC tissues and linked to poor patient prognosis.
  • The study employed various methods, such as immunohistochemistry and RNA sequencing, to investigate STEAP3's role, revealing that lower methylation levels of STEAP3 are connected to worse outcomes.
  • Knockdown of STEAP3 in CC cells reduced their growth and invasion abilities while enhancing drug sensitivity, suggesting STEAP3 drives cancer cell activity through the activation of the JAK/STAT3 signaling pathway.
