Computational assessment of measurable residual disease in acute myeloid leukemia using mixture models.

Background: The proportion of residual leukemic blasts after chemotherapy assessed by multiparameter flow cytometry, is an important prognostic factor for the risk of relapse and overall survival in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). This measurable residual disease (MRD) is used in clinical trials to stratify patients for more or less intensive consolidation therapy. However, an objective and reproducible analysis method to assess MRD status from flow cytometry data is lacking, yet is highly anticipated for broader implementation of MRD testing.

In restorative dentistry, the lack of occlusal space may lead to the mutilation of healthy tissue in order to provide sufficient space for the restorative material. Noprep dentistry can be achieved by placing high-bite restorations, followed by Simple Orthodontic Extrusion (SOE) of other teeth to close the created open bite. This rapid, partial orthodontic treatment is well accepted by patients as it can be easily performed using simple buttons, and it takes only a few weeks to reestablish occlusal contacts.

Facially Driven Rehabilitation of a Cleft Lip and Palate Patient with an Implant-Supported Complete Fixed Dental Prosthesis: Outcome of a Multidisciplinary Approach.

Patients with a facial malformation due to a cleft lip and palate (CLP) usually suffer from a reduced ability to function normally associated with a poor oral health-related quality of life. This condition often requires multiple significant surgical interventions, and the prosthetic restoration, when needed, is not always included in the initial treatment plan. In order to obtain the highest possible degree of functional, occlusal, and phonetic performance, as well as esthetics, a facially guided prosthodontic treatment sequence should be established.

Modelling the dynamic relationship between spread of infection and observed crowd movement patterns at large scale events.

Understanding how contact patterns arise from crowd movement is crucial for assessing the spread of infection at mass gathering events. Here we study contact patterns from Wi-Fi mobility data of large sports and entertainment events in the Johan Cruijff ArenA stadium in Amsterdam. We show that crowd movement behaviour at mass gathering events is not homogeneous in time, but naturally consists of alternating periods of movement and rest.
