A 12-year-old female, resident of western India, presented with a history of pruritus associated with jaundice for two months. On presentation, she had icterus with mild palpable hepatomegaly. Investigations revealed direct hyperbilirubinemia and elevated transaminases, while gamma-glutamyl transferase levels were normal.

The domestication of Emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae) began in the 1970s, but their productive characteristics have not undergone significant genetic enhancement. This study investigated the inbreeding and genetic diversity of 50 emus from various farms in Japan using Double digest restriction-site associated DNA sequencing (ddRAD-seq) markers. Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) calling revealed 1,71,975 high-quality SNPs while runs of homozygosity (ROH) analysis identified 1,843 homozygous segments, with an average of 36.

Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) are benchmark materials for iodine sorption, but their use has largely been confined to crystalline bulk forms. In this state, COFs face diffusion limitations leading to slow sorption kinetics. To address this, a series of [2 + 3] imine-linked COFs with varying particle sizes and morphologies (mesospheres, nanoflowers, and bulk) is synthesized.

Interleukin-15 (IL-15) promotes the survival of T lymphocytes and enhances the antitumour properties of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells in preclinical models of solid neoplasms in which CAR T cells have limited efficacy. Glypican-3 (GPC3) is expressed in a group of solid cancers, and here we report the evaluation in humans of the effects of IL-15 co-expression on GPC3-expressing CAR T cells (hereafter GPC3 CAR T cells). Cohort 1 patients ( NCT02905188 and NCT02932956 ) received GPC3 CAR T cells, which were safe but produced no objective antitumour responses and reached peak expansion at 2 weeks.

Introduction Post-operative wound infections are a common complication that may impede recovery and require longer hospital stays. These infections substantially impact patient outcomes, increasing the likelihood of complications and healthcare expenses. Effective management of inflammation and pain is crucial for optimizing post-operative care.
