Background: It is a requirement that medical students are educated in emergencies and feel well prepared for practice as a doctor, yet national surveys show that many students feel underprepared. Virtual reality (VR), combined with 360-degree filming, provides an immersive, realistic, and interactive simulation experience. Unlike conventional in-person simulation, it is scalable with reduced workforce demands.

Introduction: GCA (giant cell arteritis) and PMR (polymyalgia rheumatica) are two overlapping inflammatory rheumatic conditions that are seen exclusively in older adults, sharing some common features. GCA is a clinical syndrome characterized by inflammation of the medium and large arteries, with both cranial and extracranial symptoms. PMR is a clinical syndrome characterized by stiffness in the neck, shoulder, and pelvic girdle muscles.

International medical graduates (IMGs) face countless challenges when migrating to a new healthcare system, of which understanding the UK appraisal and revalidation system is one. We investigated whether provision of educational material on appraisals would improve IMGs' confidence in their understanding of the UK appraisal system. Objectives: Patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) without standard modifiable cardiovascular risk factors (SMuRFs; dyslipidaemia, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and smoking) are reported to have a worse clinical outcome compared to those with SMuRFs. However, robust prospective data and low-and middle-income country perspective are lacking. We aimed to study the patients with first STEMI and assess the influence of SMuRFs on clinical outcomes by comparing the patients with and without SMuRFs.
