Background: Telehealth involves providing health care remotely using communication tools such as telephone, video, and remote patient monitoring. Research on telehealth has shown many benefits, including improved access to care and reduced costs, and drawbacks, including delays in care, breakdowns in communication, and missed diagnoses. The use of telehealth nationally, including in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), expanded dramatically during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite having effective analgesic efficacy, prolonged oral administration has been associated with adverse effects. Transdermal delivery of ketoprofen has reduced the incidence of adverse effects in humans and could potentially be used in veterinary clinical medicine.

We sought to delineate clinical, biochemical, and neuroimaging features of these disorders, together with outcomes after oral CoQ supplementation and the utility of peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMNC) CoQ levels in monitoring therapy.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study, registered as an audit at a specialist pediatric hospital (Registration Number: 3318) of 14 patients with genetically confirmed CoQ biosynthesis deficiency, including 13 previously unreported cases.
