Tear Global Metabolomic Differences in Pre-Operative Cataract Patients With and Without Dry Eye Disease.

Purpose: The primary aim of this article was to investigate differences in the metabolomic profile of tear fluid obtained from pre-operative cataract patients, with or without dry eye disease. The objective was to look for metabolomic signatures that might discriminate between the two groups.

Methods: A total of 222 patients were enrolled in the study.

This study investigates the impact of potassium hydroxide (KOH) pre-treatment on paunch (2.5 and 12 g per 100 g paunch TS for 24 hr at 22 °C) using biochemical methane potential tests and 5 L bench-scale CSTR bioreactors.

Background: The growing demand for acute medical assistance creates an increasing pressure on emergency medical services (EMS) and emergency departments. This calls for initiatives to prevent avoidable admissions. A novel non-conveyance solo-ambulance was introduced in the Central Denmark Region; the Prehospital Visitation Unit (PVU).
