We describe the clinical picture of a non secreting carcinoid tumour in a patient suffering from cholelithiasis in who jaundice has appeared after video-laparocholecystectomy; ERCP detected a papillary neoplasia which proved to be a carcinoid tumour at immunohistochemical investigation. The patient was submitted to surgical removal of the neoplasia by the trans-duodenal way.

The series examined included 394 patients, on 193 of whom the stapler and APPOSE ULC metal stapler was used, the remaining 201 being given silk stitches using an atraumatic needle. The skin stapler produced less inflammation and a better aesthetic result over time than the silk stitches.
