Examining the health and well-being profile of people experiencing primary homelessness: the social work perspective at a major metropolitan teaching hospital.

Objective The literature has established a significant increase in morbidity and mortality among people experiencing primary homelessness, along with a pattern of using acute hospitals in place of primary healthcare services. This study examined how health services can engage and support people experiencing homelessness. Methods Participants were prospectively identified by acute hospital social workers in the course of providing usual care.

A 22-year-old Australian stockhorse gelding was presented with anterior uveitis in the right eye which was nonresponsive to anti-inflammatory therapy. Clinical examination revealed corneal edema and vascularization, marked hypopyon, and thickening of the dorsal iris, which was confirmed by ultrasonography. Technetium-99m stannous colloid (9mTcSnC) has been used to radiolabel human leukocytes to investigate various inflammatory disorders. We investigated the in vitro behavior of feline leukocytes labeled in whole blood with 99mTcSnC. Heparinized blood samples were collected from healthy cats and divided into control and test aliquots.

Biodistribution of canine leucocytes labelled with technetium-99m stannous fluoride colloid in whole blood and their ability to localise to sites of induced inflammation.

This study assessed the biodistribution of autologous leucocytes radiolabelled with technetium-99m stannous fluoride colloid (99mTcSnC) for detection of foci of induced inflammation in dogs. Venous blood was collected from seven healthy dogs and incubated with 99mTcSnC for 1h at room temperature. Radiolabelled samples were injected intravenously (IV) and the dogs were scanned using a gamma camera.
