Effect of UV exclusion and AMF inoculation on photosynthetic parameters of .

The study aims to understand the effect of UV exclusion and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) inoculation on the photosynthetic parameters of soybean. The study was conducted in nursery bags and plants were grown under iron mesh covered with UV cut-off filters. The plants grown under the exclusion of UV with AMF inoculation (I) showed higher photosynthetic pigments, carbonic anhydrase activity, reduced internal CO concentration, enhanced transpiration rate, and stomatal conductance as well as improved photosynthetic rate over uninoculated plants.

Differential surface properties of commercial crystalline telmisartan samples.

The aim of the present study was to investigate differences in surface chemistry of commercially available telmisartan (TMS) samples in Indian market and to correlate them to the surface molecular environment. Comprehensive characterization of material properties of four TMS samples from different sources showed that all samples exhibited same polymorphic form, but different particle shape, particle size distribution, surface energetics and surface chemistry. Wettability and surface free energy were determined using sessile drop contact angle technique.

Health problems among migrant construction workers: A unique public-private partnership project.

Background: Construction sector is a booming industry and involves many hazardous activities. Migrant labor in the industry is susceptible to various health and occupational hazards. In a unique public-private partnership project, a medical team from a public sector teaching hospital in Mumbai provided comprehensive on-site health care services to the construction workers of a private construction company.
