Resolution of Refractory Status Epilepticus With Ketamine Without Intubation in a Patient With Stroke-Like Migraine Attacks After Radiation Therapy (SMART) Syndrome.

Stroke-like migraine attacks after radiation therapy (SMART) syndrome is an infrequently reported complication arising years after radiation therapy that manifests as a reversible syndrome marked by migraine-like headaches, focal neurologic signs, and/or seizures. Refractory status epilepticus (RSE) associated with SMART syndrome is rare and can be challenging to treat. Valproic acid has been reported to improve seizures in RSE in SMART syndrome in a few case reports and may be ideal for SMART syndrome, given its use in the treatment of migraines and seizures.

First Measurement: Proactive Immune Cell Sparing in Radiation Therapy.

Purpose: Radiation Therapy (RT) can modulate the immune system and generate anti-tumor T cells. However, this anti-tumor-activity is countered by radiation-induced immunosuppression (RIIS). Clinical advantages of proactively sparing RT dose to immune rich organs have not previously been evaluated.

Control and Elimination of Hepatitis C Virus Among People With HIV in Australia: Extended Follow-up of the CEASE Cohort (2014-2023).

Background: Approximately 10% of people with HIV in Australia had active hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection prior to availability of government-subsidized direct-acting antiviral (DAA) therapy in 2016. This analysis evaluated progress toward HCV elimination among people with HIV in Australia between 2014 and 2023.

Methods: The CEASE cohort study enrolled adults with HIV with past or current HCV infection (anti-HCV antibody positive) from 14 primary and tertiary clinics.

Menstrual cycle performance barriers experienced by elite women football players and their management strategies applied: A semi-structured interview-based study.

The objective of this study was to investigate the barriers experienced by elite women football players due to their menstrual cycle, and coping strategies utilised against these barriers. Fifteen elite women footballers from two English Women's Super League clubs (age: 25.2 years [18-33]) were interviewed using semi-structured interviews, developed using piloting and peer review.
