Effects of chronic exposure of specific water quality parameters in poultry drinking water on dietary amino acid digestibility and early broiler performance.

Poultry drinking water quality parameters influence physiological functions and bird health. This study aimed to explore the impacts of poultry drinking water pH, TDS (total dissolved solids), and elevated levels of certain minerals on the early phase of broiler performance. Four treatment groups were created based on water source and water quality types: i) municipal water source (MW); ii) well/underground water source with moderately higher levels of Ca, SO, and Mn (WW); iii) high-pH (>8) water (HPH); and iv) high-TDS water (>3000 ppm) (HTDS).

Introduction And Importance: Insulinomas are rare pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms with an incidence of one to four cases per million annually and a 5 % to 10 % association with hereditary multiple endocrine neoplasia type-1. While most insulinomas are benign and well-encapsulated, approximately 6 % may have malignant potential. Intraoperative localization remains a vital component of treatment, often facilitated by modern imaging techniques like intraoperative ultrasound and fluorescence modalities.

Workplace Violence against Nurses Working at Private Teaching Hospitals of Kathmandu: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.

Introduction: Workplace violence in hospitals is a global concern and is considered as a major occupational hazard for all health care providers including the nurses. The aim of this study was to assess the status of workplace violence against nurses at hospitals in Kathmandu and determine the actions taken to investigate its cause.

Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among a convenient sample of 100 registered nurses employed in Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital, and Kathmandu Medical College and Teaching Hospital.

Quality of Life and Associated Factors among Patients with Stroke at Tertiary Hospital, Nepal.

Background Stroke is the second leading cause of mortality globally, with 70% of cases occurring in low- and middle-income countries. Various risk factors for stroke have been identified as predictors of Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL). Objective This study aims to assess the impact of associated factors of stroke on the quality of life (QoL) of stroke patients at this tertiary hospital in Nepal.

Psychosis and schizophrenia among patients with epilepsy: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Prior research has indicated an association between epilepsy and psychosis. This review aimed to estimate the global prevalence rate of psychosis and schizophrenia in epilepsy and assess the odds of psychosis and schizophrenia among patients with epilepsy (PWE).

Method: A comprehensive literature search was carried out utilizing relevant keywords in PubMed/MEDLINE and Scopus, covering from January 1, 1990, to November 18, 2023.
