Introduction: Despite the benefits of surgical resection and adjuvant chemotherapy for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), over 30 % of patients fail to complete adjuvant oncological treatment. Whether postoperative complications affect chemotherapy completion rates and overall survival remains uncertain. We hypothesized that postoperative complications would be associated with chemotherapy delays, omission, and reduced overall survival (OS).

- In a study of 136 SOT recipients, only 27.9% showed protection against hepatitis B virus (HBV) and 42.6% against invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) after transplantation despite being vaccinated before the procedure.
- Patients who had seroprotection when listed for transplantation were significantly less likely to have a non-response to both HBV and IPD, indicating that early vaccination is crucial for improving post-transplant outcomes.
Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the perioperative outcomes of robotic liver surgery (RLS) and Open liver surgery (OLS) in a centre with a high number of operations.
Methods: A 1:1 propensity score matched (PSM) analysis of a retrospective database of RLS and OLS was performed. Cumulative sum (CUSUM) analysis was performed to identify learning curves.
Key Points: Ketogenic diet can change the metabolism in the body and helped restore the function of altered pathways in nephropathic cystinosis. Ketogenic diet had significant benefits for preventing kidney damage, even when initiated after the onset of kidney impairment. Ketogenic diet may provide a partial therapeutic alternative in countries where cysteamine therapy is too expensive.
